Ordering online from Grabagun.com is fun, easy, and rewarding! Just follow these steps!
STEP 1 – SHOP
Shopping on www.GrabAGun.com is the fun and easy part! With great prices on tens of thousands of quality items for you to choose from on our website, you can search our extensive online collection for the firearms, magazines, ammo, or accessories you are looking for. You can use our powerful search tool in the upper right-hand corner of any page on our website (just click on the magnifying glass), or you can let your mouse pointer hover over any of the several product categories listed to the left of that magnifying glass to unveil a host of subcategories for you to choose from. As you find the quality products you are looking for, simply click on the button on the product's detail page and continue shopping until you have found everything you need. When you are done shopping, let your mouse pointer hover over the little shopping basket, which looks like it, in the top right-hand corner of any page of our website, and then click on the button.
Before completing your purchase, however, we strongly recommend you do the following:
- Before adding items to your shopping cart, look to see if there is a button on the product's detail page. The presence of a "GRAB A QUOTE" button means there is a lower "quote price" available. If the button is there, you should find it located just to the left of the button. Please note, that if you don't see a Grab A Quote button, it means we are already offering the product at the greatest current savings we can. But, if you do see the "GRAB A QUOTE" button, first make sure you are logged in to your account on our website, then simply click on the button. Very soon afterward, a GrabAGun.com representative will email you the lower quote price for that particular item so you can maximize your savings. You'll get a better deal, and it only takes a few minutes!
- Next, make sure all of the items in your cart are legal in your state, (i.e. that they are state compliant), and that you are old enough to own all of the items you are about to purchase. Some items have special age restrictions on them -- handguns are a great example. It is your responsibility to know the laws of your state and area at the time of the purchase.
- If you are about to purchase a firearm, before completing the order, contact the licensed gun dealer (aka FFL Dealer) you are thinking of having it sent to for the transfer of ownership to your name. Make sure that dealer is still in business, has affordable transfer fees, and is willing and able to handle this transfer for you. In case you are wondering, "FFL" stands for Federal Firearms License, or sometimes Federal Firearms Licensee. So, an FFL dealer is an individual or business entity that holds a Federal Firearms License which allows them to legally buy, sell or trade firearms. Please be aware that some individuals operate their FFL Dealer business out of their homes. This is perfectly legal, but not everyone is comfortable going to a person's home to take ownership of their newly purchased firearm. If you are one of those folks, we recommend you select an FFL Dealer that operates out of a traditional brick-and-mortar business location. Usually, you can tell whether or not it is a home-based business by pulling the address up on an online map.
Very Important Note: If you are logged into your account before you add items to your shopping cart, the items in your cart will remain there until you are ready to proceed with actually placing the order, however, having them in your cart does not take them out of our inventory. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that an item in your shopping cart will still be in stock when you are ready to complete the order at a later time, nor can we guarantee it will still be at the same low price. So, we strongly recommend you do your research, and/or contact your FFL dealer, as quickly as you can and then complete your order as soon as possible to avoid missing out on these savings.
STEP 2 – CHECKOUT
Checking out on our website is much like any other online purchasing experience. However, as alluded to earlier, if there is at least one firearm in your cart, during the checkout process you will be required to select an FFL dealer near you for us to ship the firearm(s) to. (If you are a Texas resident and live within a comfortable driving distance of Coppell, Tx, you can select Grabagun.com as your FFL Dealer choice to save on the expense of a transfer fee, and on the expense of having it shipped. We don't charge a transfer fee on firearms picked up at our storefront, if they were purchased from us. Additionally, we don't charge a shipping fee on firearms purchased from us and picked up at our storefront. We will notify you once the firearm is ready for you to come in to fill out your paperwork to take ownership of it.)
Our FFL Locator tool will be made available to you during the checkout process for you to select the FFL dealer of your choice.
Helpful hint: If you don’t know which FFL dealers are near you and you like to see what options are available to you ahead of time, we can help. We have a handy FFL Locator tool available to show you a list of the FFL Dealers near you who already have their license on file with us. Just right-click on the following and select open in a new window: FFL Locator. The link for this FFL Locator can also be found near the bottom of any page on our website -- look for it near the top of the area with the black background. You should be able to search in our FFL locator tool by zip code, town name, or even address (if you know the address of a particular FFL dealer you are looking for). Usually typing in your zip code and then selecting your town (which should auto-populate right after the zip code number) is the quickest way to find dealers near you. The default radius of a search on our FFL Locator is 10 miles from the center of the chosen area. Expanding that radius might prove to be helpful. You might not live near the center of your particular zip code, for instance, and expanding the radius could reveal other FFL dealers that are closer to you, but further away from the center of the entered zip code. Once you have the FFL dealers near you pulled up (they will be mapped out for you), you can then begin contacting them until you find the right one for you.
Note: If you already know which FFL dealer you want to use, but they are not listed on our FFL Locator, please contact them directly and ask them to email (preferred), or fax us, a signed and dated copy of their current FFL certificate. They can email it to FFL@GrabAGun.com. If they need to fax it to us, our fax number is (972) 304-6214. Also, please ask them to include the best phone number and email address to use for their listing. Once we receive a copy of their current, signed, and dated FFL certificate, we will add their listing to our FFL Locator. Their listing should start appearing on our FFL Locator by the end of the next business day from the time they send it in.
When you are ready to finish checking out and have selected an FFL Dealer for any firearm being purchased by you to be shipped to, you will also be asked to enter your personal information and your payment information. You must take your time and make sure everything is accurate before completing the order. Also, remember, any ammo or accessories on your order will be shipped directly to the shipping address provided on the order -- so we highly recommend you double check the entered address, making certain it is correct. This will go a long way in helping prevent any lost shipments. Again, only firearms have to be (and can be) shipped to FFL Dealers.
STEP 3 – TRANSFER
If you are purchasing a firearm, the last and final step is to take ownership of your firearm in person from your local FFL Dealer after we ship it to them. In most cases, the necessary background check will be done through your FFL -- after the firearm arrives -- when you go in to fill out the necessary paperwork to take ownership. However, we recommend you verify the specific details of the transfer process with the FFL dealer you are having us ship the gun to before making the firearm purchase. The process might be different in your state and/or area.
Note: There almost certainly will be a transfer fee charged by the FFL dealer you ask us to ship the firearm to. They are running a business and are entitled to a fair fee for their services. However, we recommend you inquire as to how much that fee will be when you contact them -- before making your purchase. These transfer fees are not regulated. FFL dealers set their transfer fee amount and some dealers are much higher than others. It is always best to know ahead of time to not be surprised (or shocked) when you go in to take ownership. Feel free to contact several dealers in your area and compare the fees they charge before having a firearm sent to any of them. Helpful Hint: As a general rule, the big, brick-and-mortar chain stores have higher fees, but there are some local exceptions.
